Communalities vs. loadings
How can squaring the values in the components transformation matrix give me communalities when there is only one value in the communalities table for each variable but there are multiple values in the components transformation matrix?
Communalities are equal to the sum of the squared loadings across all factors. So, if you have four factors, for the chosen variable square each of the four factor loadings, add them up, and the sum will be the communality for that variable.
